Third foreigner targeted by gunmen in Bangladesh

An Italian priest working at a missionary hospital in Bangladesh has become the third foreigner to be targeted by gunmen in recent months, following the murder of an Italian aid worker in September and a Japanese agriculturalist in October.

Bangladesh is facing a growing problem with Islamist violence, with a string of attacks on secular bloggers and rising tensions over the execution of Islamist preachers involved in war crimes during Bangladesh’s war of independence. Read more: bbc.co.uk
