The best geeky festival ever: Bluedot is psychedelia, Brian Cox and space exploration
It’s all your inner geek has ever wanted - a festival that describes itself as the first ever ‘intergalactic festival of music, science, art, technology, and the exploration of space’ due to take place at an observatory in England this summer.
The inaugural Bluedot festival will take place this July at the Jodrell Bank observatory in Cheshire, UK, where the Lovell telescope is to be found, the third largest telescope in the world.
The title for the festival comes from the famous Carl Sagan quote: "Consider again that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us."
The festival is one of its kind, catering to the science and music geeks alike by covering everything from math rock to astrophysics. This is evident in the line-up which sees Caribou and radio personality Brian Cox as headline acts, as well as a focus on psychedelic and electronic music acts.
The activities will range from robot workshop, pulsar hunting and graphene making.
What’s more the UK Space Agency is one of the chief supporters of the festival!
It takes place from July 22-24. Go here for more information.
