Thailand earmarks over US$14 million upgrade 50 national parks before year’s end
Thailand’s Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation has earmarked 500 million baht (US$14,219,000) to upgrade the nation’s 50 most popular national parks by the end of 2016.
The budget will reportedly be allocated to improving accommodation, toilets, restaurants and other facilities within the parks, including Erawan National Park in Kanchanburi and Khao Yai National Park in Nakhon Ratchasima province. An estimated 13 million people visit Thailand’s 127 national parks every year.
