Thailand to restore rail link with Cambodia

Thailand’s prime minister has announced that works on resurrecting the kingdom’s rail link with Cambodia will be completed by the end of the year.

The State Railway of Thailand is reportedly rehabilitating the six kilometres of track from Aranyaprathet station in Sa Kaeo province to the border at Ban Khlong Luek, opposite Poipet town, with Cambodia rebuilding the line from Sisophon to Poipet. The railway connection between the two countries was closed in the 1970s due to internal conflicts in Cambodia. Read more: bangkokpost.com
