Stuck in the mud: rescue saga documented on social media as elephant is saved in Kenya
A collection of videos and photos posted to Facebook and Instagram show the epic saga of a group of rescuers freeing an elephant who had got stuck in mud in Kenya.
A group of people, including the Northern Rangelands Trust, Save the Elephant, as well as members of the local community, worked together to free the distressed and dehydrated pachyderm, who reportedly drank 26 gallons of water during the rescue. Posting on Facebook about the rescue, the group said ‘Lots of digging, pulling, three cars and the whole community behind him, the joint team managed to get him out and he walked away.’
