Need a pick-me-up? Spreadable coffee is now a reality in Japan
Japan is the country that has given us some of the world's wackiest and most innovative food experiences, from the spa that allows you to bathe in a giant pool of maple syrup to the trend for making cakes from raw meat.
It may have outdone itself with its latest offering though, as spreadable coffee has become a reality in the country.
That's right - one innovative company has come up with a way of giving you your breakfast and coffee fix all in one.
The company Snow Brand Milk Products has brought out a new coffee-flavoured spread that has the consistency of peanut butter. Spreadable coffee is the country's latest snack trend, and they say it can be used on pancakes, bread, crackers and fruit. You can even blend it in smoothies and have it with a real cup of coffee for that extra hit. And hey, if you end up getting a spoon and scooping it straight out of the jar like it's Nutella, nobody here will judge you!
