Speedboat explosion injures tourists in the Maldives
An explosion on board a speedboat has injured 24 tourists in the Maldives, including visitors from China, Japan, and India.
Initial reports suggest that the accident was caused by a faulty battery, which ignited, starting a fire which spread to the engines. Injured passengers were quickly evacuated to nearby Hulhulé island, home to the Maldives’ international airport.
