South Carolina braces for more weather misery

The rain has finally stopped falling in and around Columbia, South Carolina, but the devastation stemming from all of the recent rainfall continues.

The rivers have not yet crested and nine dams have either failed or been breached so far. Officials are warning that more evacuations may be required as the flood waters continue to rise. The rivers in the area could take as long as two weeks to crest. Eleven people have died in South Carolina since the storm began last week. The initial estimates are that it will take weeks for infrastructure to be repaired and the cost will run into billions of dollars. Read more at: cnn.com
