Sofia’s neolithic settlement to become tourist attraction
Bulgaria’s capital Sofia will turn its 8000-year-old neolithic settlement into a tourist attraction in 2016.
Part of the settlement, the oldest in the Sofia valley, was destroyed in the 1970s for the construction of a sports complex and a tramway line. The authorities are now planning a project of uncovering and conservation of the ruins. The archaeological finds from the settlement will be displayed at the new Sofia Museum of History, which will be inaugurated on 17 September. Read more: novinite.com
