Smallest snails on earth found in southern China
A creature that is believed to be the smallest snail species in the world has been discovered in southern China. The 0.86mm snails were found by researchers in Guangxi province.
Termed 'microsnails', they are barely visible to the naked eye and about 10 could fit in the eye of a sewing needle. Scientists are as yet uncertain how or why the snails evolved at such a small size. Read more: theguardian.com
