Small California town sets big record for earthquakes

San Ramon, a quiet, small town a few miles east of San Francisco, rarely makes the news – but when you experience 400 earthquakes in two weeks you’re going to hit the headlines.

Though the magnitude of the quakes has been low, the sheer number has broken the previous 2003 record by almost 400%. The area is known for its tremors, just not for quite this many, and officials say there’s only a very small chance that they’re a sign of a big earthquake on its way. Read more:
