Singapore to open new national gallery for jubilee celebrations

On 24 November 2015 the National Gallery Singapore will open its doors to the public.

This one of a kind museum will be the world’s first dedicated to Southeast Asian Modern Art. As well as two permanent galleries, the museum will house collections of 19th and 20th century art from Singapore and Southeast Asia. Admission will be free to visitors from 24 November to 6 December. Alongside the gallery opening there will be a range of cultural events on offer to mark Singapore’s Jubilee and 27 November will see the opening of a permanent sheltered walkway connecting the National Gallery to City Hall MRT which will feature artworks promoting Singapore’s local community.
