See another side of Singapore in these incredible bird’s eye view images
Spectacular aerial images have revealed the stunning beauty of Singapore from a bird’s eye view.
The amazing pictures show Sentosa Cove in all its glory as well as some of Singapore’s biggest skyscrapers including Suntec City and Lion City. Other photographs show a more relaxed side to the island with Gardens by the Bay illuminated in purple light and boats anchored in clear blue water at a marina.
The pictures were taken across Singapore by landscape and aerial photographer Willy Chandra from Pematangsiantar, Indonesia, using a drone. “I love the unique view which we can't see the view from our eyes as a human,” he said. “I usually do research of the location on where should I take the photo using Google maps (satellite mode)."
He said he always heads to a particular location an hour early – before sunrise, sunset or blue hour so he can be ready with the angle and spot that he wants. “And of course, it depends on your luck too because you can't predict the weather, sky or clouds, but the last word is, don't give up!”
Willy, who took the photographs using a Nikon D7000 and a DJI Phantom 3 Advanced drone, is only interested in landscape photography but was attracted by the drones.
“Actually, I am just interested in landscape photography,” he explained. “But nowadays the technology developments are increasingly sophisticated. So, I bought a drone last year which is DJI Phantom 3 Advanced and from there I started to take some unique views and angles which our human eyes can't see."
“People enjoy my aerial photography so much that they keep asking me to take more for them to see.”
