Gucun Park in Shanghai will play host to around 100,000 people over the next few weeks as visitors and residents alike flock to the annual cherry blossom festival.
Some 12,000 trees in the park are expected to reach peak bloom next weekend, though the pink flowers will blossom over the next month. Gucun Park is home to around 60 different varieties of cherry blossom trees, and festival organisers say this year’s blooms will be better than in previous years, as the recently-planted trees will have had a few years to mature.
