Shanghai delights autumn-lovers by not sweeping up fallen leaves
Local officials in the Putuo district of Shanghai have announced that autumn leaves will be left on the streets to allow leaf-peepers to photograph, traipse through and crunch them.
Leafy Zaoyang, Huaxi and Tongbai roads in west Shanghai will be designated as ‘autumn avenue attractions’. Street cleaners will leave the fallen leaves during daylight hours and sweep them up overnight. They will also be on hand for emergency clean-up in case of rain. The leaves will be left until 6 December, and other districts of Shanghai have also said they might implement similar policies next week. Read more: shanghaidaily.com
