Shanghai commuters to pay fares with futuristic smart bracelets

Commuters in Shanghai will soon be able to pay for their metro and bus fares with a futuristic new bracelet.

The wearable device will be able to pay for transport fares by swiping over a scanner at the gate or door. The device has been developed specifically for Shanghai’s transport system and will also function as a watch and have sleep and fitness tracking capabilities. The bracelet is set to be unveiled on 24 November, but it has not yet been confirmed when they will go into operation. Read more:
