Several injured in Swiss hotel walkway collapse

A 3.5-metre-long wooden walkway connecting two parts of the Metropol Hotel in the Swiss mountain resort town of Arosa collapsed on Tuesday injuring five people.

The walkway, which connected the reception area to another building of the hotel, gave way on Tuesday night causing several people to fall onto a concrete stairwell. One person was seriously injured and flown to hospital by emergency services helicopter. The collapse is believed to have been caused by rotting wood. Read more:
