Shipwreck discovered off Tobago after long search

Underwater archaeologists have unearthed the wreck of a Dutch warship that sank off the coast of Tobago more than 300 years ago. The team behind the Rockley Bay Research Project, a joint initiative between the University of Connecticut and the Institute of Nautical Archaeology at Texas A&M, believe the ship may be the lost Huis te Kruiningen, a key Caribbean battleship and one the team has spent years searching for. Artifacts from the ship are expected to be put on display at Tobago’s Fort King George museum once conservation work has been completed. Read more:
