Seoul sets limits on building heights on Han River
The city government of Seoul, South Korea announced plans on Friday to limit the height of new buildings along the Han River.
The river bisects the city east to west but has in the past been plagued by high-rise buildings that limit views, particularly of the mountains that surround Seoul. The plan will limit new buildings to heights below 35 floors and applies to an around a 1km radius from river banks covering around 82 sq km, or around 13.5% of the entire city. Developers will also have to provide simulations to prove that new buildings won’t block views of mountains and natural landscapes. Read more: english.chosun.com
