Stay in rustic new cabins and huts at this beautiful Maine campsite
Nestled near the scenic stretch of Goose Rocks Beach in Kennebunkport, Maine, sits Sandy Pines Campground, a rustic getaway that first opened in June 2017. Now, with the season once again upon them, the campsite has unveiled brand new camp carriages, hideaway huts and special themed weekend retreats, giving visitors even more incentive to pack their bags for a cosy, pastoral adventure.
The popular seaside camping and glamping destination already offers approximately 300 wooded and waterside campsites fit for RVs, traditional tents and park model homes, as well as safari-style luxury tents, a heated saltwater pool and a general store offering treats such as made-to-order lobster dinners and s’mores. Available for nightly rental beginning in late June 2018, new accommodation offerings include 12 Camp Carriages, which have been designed to look like stylish cottages on wheels and include king-sized beds, air conditioning, exterior window shutters, fire pits and seating areas, while the new Hideaway Huts are wooden A-frames that have been designed to be sleek and modern as well as rustic. Sandy Pines has also unveiled four more safari-style Glamp Tents that include four poster beds, chandeliers and antiques.
“When guests come to Sandy Pines, we aim to immerse them in the best of Maine – its natural beauty, nostalgic charm, a feeling of community - and set the stage for making new memories each time they visit. During our first season, we took note of what campers enjoyed most and built on those types of offerings for 2018,” said Tim Harrington, co-founder of Sandy Pines Campground.
New experiences for summer 2018 include retro movie nights by the pool, with snacks such as popcorn and ice cream bars, Saturday Night Fever, where guests convene for live music and burgers, and the Sunday Funday ice cream buffet that comes complete with a toppings bar.
Visitors to Sandy Pines Campground can also take part in activities such as kayaking, SUP and mountain biking, while the Kids’ Kamp includes classic board games and arts and crafts.
