Royal Enfield Motorcycles - makers of India’s best loved motorbike, the iconic Enfield Bullet - have outsold their main rival, Harley Davidson, for the first time. The company sold more than 300,000 bikes worldwide in 2014, compared to 268,000 for their American competitor. While most sales were in the subcontinent, the company has growing sales around the world - not bad for a factory that moved its operations from Redditch, England to Chennai, India in 1955.
