Visitors to the Taj Mahal in Agra have been horrified by the actions of a mixed religion couple who tried to end their lives at the famous tourist destination. The architectural masterpiece, considered to be the epitome of romantic love, was built in memory of the wife of the Mogul Emperor Shan Jahan, who died in childbirth.
A Hindu man and Muslim woman, whose relationship had been condemned by their parents, attempted to end each others’ lives on the Taj Nature Walk, which skirts the Taj Mahal - often described as the greatest monument to love.
