White rhino death brings species perilously close to extinction

The death of a northern white rhino in San Diego Zoo at the weekend has brought this type of rhinoceros a step closer to extinction. Officials say that the 44-year old Angalifu was one of only six northern white rhino in the world, their numbers having been decimated by poachers who can sell their horns for huge sums of money. Angalifu is believed to have died of old age. Read more: theguardian.com
