Residents of some US states will need passports for internal flights
New policies resulting from the Real ID act that was passed by Congress in 2005 means that in 2016 anyone with a driver’s license from Louisiana, Minnesota, New Hampshire, or New York will need a passport to travel on domestic flights in the US.
The security measures that exist for these driver’s licenses did not meet the standards required by the Department of Homeland Security. The exact date this requirement will come into effect has not yet been decided, but people from these states may want to consider getting a passport now. Read more at: time.com
