Reports of engine fire forces plane to return to Las Vegas

An Allegiant Airlines flight heading to Fresno, California, was forced to make an emergency landing at Las Vegas airport after witnesses reported an engine fire.

A spokesperson for the airport said the plane landed safely and there were no injuries. After firefighters inspected the plane, they found no evidence of fire. Allegiant says the plane had to return due to a mechanical malfunction and no engine fire suppression system had to be deployed. Read more: nytimes.com
