Watch as daredevil divers plunge 28 metres from iconic bridge in Bosnia at the weekend
The Stari Most Bridge in Mostar, Bosnia, is the seventh stop in the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series. The Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series pitches the world's best cliff divers against one another from heights of up to 28 metres. They dive in various locations around the world, from Dubai to Texas to La Rochelle. This year's dive in Polignano a Mare was particularly breathtaking.
This weekend's dive in Southern Bosnia took place in front of a crowd of over 200,000 gathered on the river banks. The bridge’s name means “Old Bridge” in English, and is a 16th-century bridge that has become famous for people diving off it.
The world’s best cliff divers somersaulted from a platform erected on the iconic bridge, plunging a total of 27 metres into the waters of the river below.
This weekend Michal Navratil and Lysanne Richard secured their second wins of the season. Navratil, of the Czech Republic, followed up his first ever win in Wales two weeks ago with another commanding display of diving from 27.5m.
In the women's competition, Canadian Richard leapt from fifth to first with a delightful final round dive from 21.5.
The next stop on the Red Bull series is in three weeks' time in Japan.
