Puerto Rico’s capital bans horse-drawn carriages

Horse-drawn carriages popular with tourists have been banned in San Juan, Puerto Rico’s capital, after allegations of animal abuse. The city’s mayor issued the ban on Monday, days after pictures of a horse that collapsed in Old San Juan were posted on social media. The mayor said the city had been receiving complaints about the welfare of working horses in Old San Juan for years. Read more: skift.com
