Ouagadougou, the capital of Burkina Faso, erupted in gunfire on Thursday as the military attempted to disperse protesters who had stormed parliament. The group is angry that the government is considering a constitutional amendment to open the way for the country’s president, Blaise Compaore, to extend his 27-year-rule. Read more: bbc.co.uk
