Retired Indian postmaster builds miniature Taj Mahal to honour dead wife
A retired postmaster in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh has constructed a scaled down version of the Taj Mahal as a mausoleum for his wife, Tajamulli.
Faizul Hasan Qadri from Kaser Kalan village ploughed all his savings into building the monument, inspired by the story of the Taj, constructed by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan for his favourite wife Mumtaj and often described as the greatest monument built for love. Building work started in 2011 and the monument still needs to be clad in marble to mimic its favourite counterpart. Read more: hindustantimes.com
