Share a unique view of your travels with friends and family with a postcard-kaleidoscope
A Kickstarter campaign wants travellers to think beyond using a regular old postcard to share their adventures with friends and family – instead sending a kaleidoscope that will give the recipient a very different view of any trip.
Paperscope, which is currently seeking funding on Kickstarter, is described as a “DIY customisable kaleidoscope which travels as a postcard”. The recipient of a Paperscope receives an envelope with the pieces and instructions to build their own kaleidoscope. Since the pieces can fold up into a small envelope, it can be sent anywhere in the world.
Since kaleidoscopes need something inside to create the swirling, colourful effects they’re known for, the sender can include any small items that can fit into the small tray. Travellers can pick up small items on a trip to send along with their postcard.
The campaign describes Paperscope as being “a way to share emotions” when travelling, noting that users can “capture the uniqueness of the place by putting some local details inside the Paperscope and sending it to your loved ones back home”.
But, the project needs €20,000 to go ahead, so if sharing a kaleidoscopic view of your recent travels with friends and family appeals, check out their Kickstarter page.
