Polish army to join hunt for Nazi gold train

The Polish government has announced that it will deploy the army to search for an alleged Nazi 'gold train'.

News of the train emerged recently when two amateur treasure hunters claimed they had discovered an armoured train carriage filled with precious items including gold, which they believed had been stolen by the Nazis. Polish officials disagree over the validity of the claims, however. While a senior culture ministry representative said they were 'more than 99% sure' a carriage had been found, local government officials in Lower Silesia stated that no evidence had been submitted. Meanwhile, the search area has been closed to the public to prevent accidents along the active train line. Read more: thelocal.de
