Police in northern parts of western Siberia should soon swap snowmobiles for sleighs pulled by reindeer, according to the regional authorities. This will make it easier for the police force to patrol the tundra and combat crime, as some remote places in the region are only accessible with reindeer; snowmobiles are less reliable which is why the police have been asking for reindeer for the last few years.
