Police hunt thieves of infamous Dachau gate

An historic wrought iron gate bearing the words "Arbeit macht frei" has been stolen from the former Nazi concentration camp at Dachau, Bavaria. The site does not have CCTV, and police have called for witnesses to come forward over the theft, which occurred overnight on Saturday between patrols by security guards. Over 41,000 Jews were killed at the camp before it was liberated in 1945. Read more: thelocal.de
