Phoenix Zoo unveils new baby Bornean orangutan

This week the Phoenix Zoo held a special event to welcome its newest baby orangutan. The month-and-a-half-old Bornean orangutan appeared with his mother, named Bess, in a special event held at the zoo’s Orang-Hutan: ‘People of the Forest’ exhibit. This is the second baby orangutan to join the exhibit; Bess also has an eight-year-old girl named Kasih. Bess is described as an ‘attentive mother’, and typically orangutans spend the first four or five months close to their mothers. Read more:
