Peru to press charges against archaeologist over damage to Nazca lines

Peru's Ministry of Culture is filing criminal charges against a Nazca-based government archaeologist after it was discovered that he allowed a group of Japanese television journalists to enter a protected area containing ancient geoglyphs in 2013. The incident has come to light just one month after controversy with Greenpeace at the same site. A two-year-old video of the incident was published on Wednesday by Peruvian press and included footage of one of the journalists laying down in a delicate area of sand between lines of the hummingbird.
