Peppers on a plane: vegetables cause emergency Irish diversion

A plane from the Dominican Republic to France was forced to divert via Ireland’s Shannon Airport after a fire alarm sounded in its hold. The Air France flight was greeted by fire crews and ambulances at the airport, which is near Limerick, but no fire was found on board. A consignment of peppers is believed to have set off the plane’s sensitive fire system. Read more: independent.ie
