Peloponnese expects tourist boom with new Messinia flights

The Peloponnese region of Greece is expecting a successful tourist season in 2016 and a significant increase in tourist arrivals thanks to the launch of new flights to the Kalamata International Airport in Messinia.

A 28% increase in air arrivals or an additional 25,000 visitors (compared with 2015) are expected this year. The luxury Costa Navarino resort has opened for the season with the introduction of a new family-oriented programme. From April, new air routes servicing the Kalamata airport will include British Airways flights from London, Vueling flights from Rome, and Aegean Airlines flights to a number of western European destinations.
