Human skull found in passenger's hand luggage was bought at market stall, he tells Rome airport
A human skull was found in the hand luggage of a passenger who tried to board a plane to Dusseldorf at Rome’s Fiumicino airport.
The traveller was a German university professor who claimed he bought the skull for 50 euros at a market stall on via Giulia in Rome and said he wanted to use it for scientific purposes. He was charged for illegal possession of human remains and the skull was sent to Italy’s Scientific Police to determine its origin.
