Paro airport running out of parking spaces for growing fleet of planes

Bhutan’s only international airport at Paro is struggling to accommodate the growing numbers of aircraft operated by Bhutanese airlines, according to new reports. Both the national carrier Druk Air and private airline Tashi Air have expanded their fleets in recent years, meaning that seven planes are squeezed into a space designed for just a handful of small aircraft. Plans to expand the apron that provides parking space for planes have been held up by negotiations with the Indian Air Force, which uses part of the airport as part of a bilateral deal. Read more:
