Paris skyline updated with golden dome of Russian Orthodox cathedral
A huge golden dome has been placed on the top of Paris’ new Russian Orthodox Cathedral, which is currently under construction on the banks of the Seine.
It’s the first and largest of five golden cupolas that will be part of the Holy Trinity Cathedral, set to open in October this year. The Kremlin-funded project has not been without controversy, with some calling the design ‘un-Parisian’ and nicknaming the church ‘Saint Vladimir’s’ after the Russian president. Read more: thelocal.fr
