Panic in Malta as freak storm snaps parasailing cord
A waterspout caused by a sudden freak summer storm blew a parasailing speedboat off course at Malta’s Mellieħa Bay (also known as Għadira Bay) this weekend.
As terrified beachgoers watched on, the boat was blown ashore, with two tourists dangling helplessly from the airborne parasail. Eventually the strong winds snapped the cord connecting the parasail to the boat and it flew off, ending up landing in a nearby field. The two unlucky tourists, a 20-year-old brother and 16-year-old sister from Britain fortunately only suffered minor injuries. Read more and watch the video: timesofmalta.com
