Weird and wonderful celestial phenomenon over Oslo

A rare celestial phenomenon appeared in Oslo on Wednesday night when pillars of light were visible in the night sky over the city.

The beautiful columns appear when light is reflected from ice crystals suspended in the air, resulting from very cold but humid conditions. There were no reports of similar sightings elsewhere in the country. Read more:
