Once-blind orangutan returns to the wild with bittersweet success

A female orangutan who regained her sight with surgery has returned to the rainforests of Sumatra, but with only one of her babies. Seemingly overwhelmed by the prospect of caring for her four-year-old twins in the wild, Gober took daughter Ginting under her wing, leaving brother Ganteng behind. After spending his first night in the jungle alone, Ganteng was placed back in a rehabilitation centre where he will continue to mature until he can be re-released. Read more: sciencedaily.com
