Oil spill closes Thailand's Hua Hin beach
Government workers and local residents joined forces on Wednesday to clean up Hua Hin beach after Thailand’s Prachuap Khiri Khan coastline was fouled by an oil spill.
Authorities are reportedly investigating the cause of the spill, believed to have come from a large vessel far offshore. Notices have been posted at the popular tourist beach advising people not to go swimming until the water quality has improved and the beach has been completely cleared of oil, tar balls and petroleum-coated garbage.
