O‘ahu locals protest commercial camping outfit
Locals from the small O‘ahu community of Waimanalo are criticising a new business that offers camping packages that set up the equipment and provisions for visitors to Waimanalo Bay Beach.

At a recent neighbourhood board meeting, locals said they were unhappy with a commercial business that charges for campsites in an area that’s usually reserved for residents. ‘We don’t want [Waimanalo] to be like Waikiki, all commercialized where the residents can enjoy their time at the beach’, one neighbourhood board member told the meeting.
