Now you can gain hotel points with your Uber ride

The car-sharing company Uber is launching a new scheme that will give incentives for riders to choose them over traditional taxis: hotel points. Uber is partnering with the hotel chain Starwood to give passengers one point for each dollar they spend on a ride found on the app. A free night in the lowest tier of Starwood hotel starts at 3000 points. The scheme is thought to be an effort for Uber to gain ground in cities such as New York  and Sao Paulo, Brazil, where taxi firms still have a strong-hold on the market. Read more: nytimes.com
