Norway moves to protect unique stave churches

Officials in Norway have added an additional 20 million kroner to the budget to preserve the nation's unique stave churches and clusters of wooden buildings from fire. Many of the structures are located in areas susceptible to forest fires, and the government has earmarked additional funding for local authorities to preserve them. The village of Lærdal was partially destroyed in Spring due to a forest fire. Read more: norwaypost.com
