New ‘micronation’ proclaimed in the Balkans

A new self-proclaimed state was born in the Balkans, on the border between Croatia and Serbia, on 13 April 2015. The new ‘micronation’, whose motto is ‘to live and let live’, is called Liberland and it’s the creation of a Czech citizen, Vít Jedlicka who is also writing the state’s constitution. Liberland is now accepting applications for citizenship. The ‘no man’s land’ on the west bank of the Danube between the two Balkan countries has been the subject of a border dispute for years.
