New indigenous tourism capital campaign launched in Australia
The Far North Queensland tourism body has launched a campaign to have the region recognised as the centre of indigenous tourism in Australia. After the Great Barrier Reef and Daintree rainforest, indigenous cultural tourism is one of the region’s top experiences said chief executive Alex de Waal. Queensland also celebrated the opening of the newly redeveloped Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park in Cairns - a key part of the state’s indigenous tourism story-telling experience - this week.
