New Belfast square to feature CS Lewis characters

Belfast’s new civic square will feature six sculptures depicting characters from CS Lewis’s The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe.

The figures will include Aslan the lion and the White Witch, and will form a part of the square, which is currently under construction at the Holywood Arches in east Belfast. Lewis was born in east Belfast in 1898, and lived in the city until he was nine, when he moved to England. His Chronicles of Narnia books were enormously popular and have been adapted into films. The sculptures will be produced by Maurice Harron, whose previous works include Derry/Londonderry’s Reconciliation/Hands Across the Divide. Read more:
